Position Summary:
The Furniture, Inside District Sales Manager (IDSM) will be responsible for managing assigned Program Services Account Managers (PSAMs) and the selling process for Staples Furniture Solutions as well as the overall success of their PSAM Team, the Inside Account Manager's (IAMs) they support and the customers that they jointly manage. With guidance from the Director, the Furniture Inside District Manager (FIDM) develops and executes strategies for driving sales and margin as well as opportunity development and IAM engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform all management activities for PSAM Team including, but not limited to, performance evaluation, recruiting, training, education, and goal setting as it relates to the IAM Furniture Solutions offering
- Effectively educate new members if the IAM Organization on the Furniture Solutions offering and related processes and expectations
- Act as liaison across all Staples sales channels to coordinate sales activities and drive penetration of Furniture Solutions products and services within IAM accounts
- Effectively coach, guide and develop Technology Program Services Account Managers
- Prepare sales and activity reports, presentations and communications for IAM LT
- With guidance from the Director, develop, communicate and execute performance metrics to meet team objectives for sales, GP and penetration
- Exhibits proactive communication, assess the need for immediate action and executes accordingly
Basic:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business-to-business selling environment and at least 3 years managing a multi-tiered team based sales organization
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Grade Furniture and Professional Services
- Strong management and organization aptitude
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong influencing skills, verbal and written fluency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis on presentation development
- Ability to drive sales and margin results
- Ability to build partnerships across the organization
- Exhibit proactive communication; assess the need for immediate action
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree strongly desired; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
